What is the Amherst PTA?
We are a non-profit organization of interested parents and teachers working together to provide Amherst children with innovative programs and up-to-date equipment, facilities, and curriculum.
What is involved in joining the PTA? Do I have to join a committee?
You become a member by contributing dues of only $10 per family. That's it! Your dues alone provide considerable support in funding the many programs and projects sponsored by the PTA. All dues are tax deductible. While there are many fun volunteer opportunities available, you are not committed in any way to serve on a committee or bake one cookie!
All members are welcome to attend and vote at any PTA meetings, usually held the second Tuesday of each month in the Wilkins Library. Check the calendar for specific dates and times.
How are membership dues used?
Your membership dues help fund the many programs and family activities developed throughout the year. Last year the Amherst PTA raised over $77,000 for programs and equipment at Clark, Wilkins, and Amherst Middle Schools! |
